The ‘Give It a Go” Approach: A Snapshot of Mobile Experiences at Institutions in Australia & New Zealand.
5:15 pm Eastern Time (NYC) – Duration: 60 min

What’s happening with the mobile experience in NZ and Australian museums? Some museums feel the need to digitally ‘catch up’ believing that we are lagging behind what our visitors expect and/or want. Others feel hampered by the large contract and data costs that inhibit the take up and use of these phones with in our spaces. While still others enjoy leveraging the possibilities that iPads, QR codes and digital natives create to provide engaging layered experiences. The following is a session that looks at these different perspectives to explore how best to just ‘Give it a go.’

Session Chair: Kate Woodall, Senior Concept Developer Digital Projects, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa (Wellington, NZ)
Presenters:
Thomasin Sleigh, City Gallery (Wellington, NZ)
